how's it going everyone? life in dallas is crazy as ever and once again i seem to be in the middle of it all... i've been working up at this bar owned by a couple of the dallas mavs right? well last thursday night they played the lakers and who came into the bar after the game but shaquille oneal... yes shaq. it was one of the coolest things ever. i was the waitress that night and got to serve him and stuff... the bar closed at 2 but he stayed until 4 and so did I... it was crazy sitting at a table with him just talking and chilling and drinking. well he wasn't really drinking but i had a few cocktails - i'd just finished my shift! it was just crazy hanging out with this guy who is like this HUGE SUPERSTAR and not someone you just run into much less hang out with in at a random bar in dallas... he left me a $50 tip but didn't pay for a thing and i got my picture taken with him. everyone at the bar was freaking out. the mavs come up all the time, dirk, steve nash, michael finley, everyone... but i guess i'm used to coz i see them all the time. i dunno. it was nuts. my sister went to the store and bought me a disposable camera and brought it up while i was working. she's not legal to drink so she couldn't stay and she was PISSED!! i would be too... ahh the benefits of being the older sister for once. :-)

so what are you up to? where are you in your travels?

i leave for for New Zealand in 11 weeks. Are you kidding me? Yup, Megs about to be on the road again... I can't wait. I've had enough of this living at home stuff. i mean it has its benefits like no rent and good food, but i miss being on my own and being on the move. so i've planned to head to nz for a year this time. i've never been and i'm quite looking forward to the adventure. i've sent off for my visa and have bought my ticket, now all i can do is plan i guess. i'm so excited!!

so as always my life is full of craziness and fun but that's how i love it. i finally got my suitcase back with all my stuff in it. it only took 3 months or so... i don't know if i've mentioned that. now if i can just get a new digital camera i'll be up and running :-)

i hope everyone had an excellent valentines day whether alone or with someone...
