hey hey hey....
well i made it to sydney
safely.... i am so excited about this adventure i've undertaken.... it's about noon on sunday afternoon and I've checked into my hotel
and showered after a very long 14 hour flight.... it wasn't bad but it was
long... i'm just glad I'm no longer on the plane! i sat next to this really nice
kiwi (guy from new zealand) and we chatted most of the way. my flight left at
11:45pm and we got in around 7am so I was able to sleep for most of it...
i can't
believe that i'm actually here! my hotel is nice and has a gorgeous view
i don't really have anything today and the weather sucks so it's not great for
walking around. i don't know if the opera house is open today but i'd like to go
on a tour of that. i have orientation tomorrow and then i'm done.
i'll be here in sydney until
tuesday and then I fly to perth and my adventure really begins! i can't believe
I'm actually here!! what have I gotten myself into?!?! no, i'm excited and
really happy to be doing this, when again in my life will i have the freedom to
just pick up and go?
the weather isn't that
pleasant today-very windy and supposed to rain. i forget that sydney is now
going into winter so the weather will be different. perth is supposed to be a
lot like san diego so i should be in heaven!
my hotel is right next to the
sydney opera house and I have a beautiful view of sydney harbour--
there's a steam room and sauna that i plan on visiting later this evening... AGHH!!! I'm
in AUSTRALIA!!! I just can't believe it!
Well I hope everyone
is doing well... i'll be in touch but it'll be a few days before I'm actually
situated and ready to go.
