What's it like?
Discovery Lodge is the closest accommodation to the start of the Tongariro Crossing - just
10 minutes drive to the Mangaepopo Road end; the Discovery Shuttle provides daily drop off and pick up
for the Tongariro Crossing.
Owners/Brothers Callum and Hamish Harland have a passion for the area and work hard to help organize all your adventures
from scenic flights, horse trekking, and mountain biking to 4x4 motorbike touring, Whanganui River escapes and more. They
pride themselves on serving healthy meals and even offer packed lunches for your treks.
The Lodge is surrounded by green meadows, forest and the Tongariro
World Heritage Park with the most spectacular views of all three volcanoes.
