Name: Portobello Markets
Address: Portobello Road
City: London
Type of Merchandise: Everything

What's it like?
The most famous (and certainly the most popular) of the weekend markets in London is in Portabello Road. Located in the posh Notting Hill, this is a must-do for everyone that visits London. Wake up early on a Saturday morning and get ready to do some shopping!!

Portobello Market has been immortalized by the fact that Paddington Bear used to hang out there in Mr. Grobers Antique shop. There are lots of alternative shops especially at the Ladbroke Grove End. It is definitely a good place to find trinkets and antique clothes of all sorts. Worth a wander round is Notting Hill itself--there are some interesting shops there to say the least. There are great clothing buys (vintage and new jackets for as little as $12) in the area under the bridge.

If you walk past the bridge towards Ladingham Grove, there is a Caribbean and African market with wonderful spices, foods, and fabrics. You might even be lucky enough to hear some ethnic music. Vendors in a UK market do not like people haggling. They put a price tag on everything they sell so expect to pay it. However, shortly before a market closes is probably a good time to buy some bargains. I found some beautiful antique tea cups and everything of the like you could imagine. There is also a really neat 70s furniture store that you should check out.
