What's it like?
We had to wake up early to catch the 9:30am ferry over to Russell in order to catch the boat, yet once we arrived it was worth it. As we boarded the two masted schooner we prepared ourselves for a day out in the Bay of Islands.

We got out into the open waters and the sails were set - there were 4 crew and the skipper - passengers on board were able to help the crew hoist the main sail.

We cruised around at a leisurely place as morning tea was prepared. Abound 11am they brought out Devonshire tea - tea and scones, often served with whip cream - and served us up on deck. As the young kids climbed the ropes and played on the bow, we chilled out back and took in the sites.

Arriving in a secluded bay around noon, the anchor was dropped and a group of passengers took the dinghy to the beach. The boys jumped into the ocean via a rope swing and the girls laid back on deck and drank wine. It was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday.

Eventually everyone returned from the beach and an amazing lunch was served - the presentation itself was beautiful. We relaxed while we ate and then it was back sailing towards home. The girls raised the anchor and we were off. The boat never seemed to be moving that fast, it was okay though because we were just laying back and chilling. It was windy and a bit chilly so most people were bundled up however we still managed to get quite a bit of sun.

The boat was finished in 1985 and is a two masted schooner.
