What were the accommodations like?
The Pipi Patch Lodge may not be the newest of places to stay in Paihia, but it is definitely highly recommended. Located
on King's Road, in the heart of the backpacker ghetto, the Pipi is only 50m from the beach and a mere 350m from town.
The Pipi is quite popular with the backpackers and tour companies alike; Kiwi Experience, Stray,
and Magic all make daily drop-offs, ensuring a constantly changing crew and always ready to party crowd.
The Pipi is a converted motel with rooms ranging from dorms to doubles and every unit has it's own ensuite, kitchenette and balcony.
There is a bar onsite and is often the starting point for a big night out. As they are a
licensed premise no alcohol is allowed to
be consumed or brought onto the property other than what is sold at the bar.
There is a swimming pool and spa set in a large courtyard in the middle of the Lodge.
