What's it like?
Soar high above the Bay of Islands with Flying Kiwi Parasail, "NZ's highest parasailing." Enjoy breathtaking views of Paihia, Russell and out to Cape Brett, "Hole in the Rock." Fly away in ease as you're gently lifted from the back deck of the worlds leading purpose built parasail boat. Anyone can fly like a bird as there are no age or physical limitations. Don't miss this opportunity to see the Bay from a birds eye view.

The ride starts down on the Paihia Wharf where Marty and Johnny get you on board; you go for a ride out to the middle of the Bay and depending on the number of sailors you may just cruise for a bit. Johnny then give you the safety briefing and gets you set up in the most attractive gear ever.

We went tandem so they hooked the sail to a bar and us side by side to it. We sat on the back of the boat, they sent the sail out and next thing you know we have taken off and are flying quickly into the air. Before you know it we are 1000 feet in the air soaring about the Bay. The ride seems to last forever and then Marty starts to mess with us by stimulating a freefall and reeling in the wench. Next thing I know our feet are dragging in the water and we can hear the laughter from the boat.

After about 10min we start to come in and land back on the boat. Johnny undoes the sail and releases us from the harnesses. We waddled over to the seats and relaxed and took in the air. All in all it was a great time and a great way to see the area. Definitely one of my favorite Paihia activities.

The Deluxe ride is at 600ft for 10 minutes. The Extreme ride has an optional simulated freefall and reaches highs of 1000ft for 10 minutes.
