What's it like?
At Ellis Island, the Immigration Museum is designed to be self-guiding;
ranger-guided tours are also available. Other activities at Ellis Island
include two theaters with films that chronicle the Ellis Island experience, a
living history theater showing an immigrant-themed play, the American
Immigrant Wall of Honor, and the American Family Immigration History Center.
Also this summer a new exhibit, "Ellis Island Portraits," based on the work of
famed photographer Augustus F. Sherman, will be on view through Labor Day.
