Review of international travel to Namibia
Namibia is located on Africa's southwestern coast, bordered by South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Angola and the Atlantic Ocean. Much of its 318,580 square miles are uninhabited, which in recent years has attracted increasing numbers of visitors to its beautiful, unspoiled deserts, canyons, mountains, beaches and savannahs.

Although Namibia has distinct seasons, there are about 300 days of sunshine each year, allowing visitors plenty of opportunity to enjoy its vast open spaces and quaint colonial towns.

An independent nation since 1990, Namibia is a major producer of gem-quality diamonds, which are its chief export. Other mineral exports include uranium, lead, copper, gold, silver, zinc, tin and tungsten.
