Australia's second largest city combines Victorian-era buildings
with modern architecture; intellectuals with sports nuts. A city blessed with
fantastic parks and vintage trams, the Victorian capital is the home of creations
as varied as Kylie Minogue, Foster's, the bionic ear and cricketer Shane Warne's
right arm. It has lanes filled with hidden treasures, an alley named after rock
band AC/DC and the set of TV soap Neighbours, which attracts hordes of
British tourists.
