Manzanillo's history dates back to 1527 when the bar was used by
the Spanish as a launching point for coastal expeditions. Today, Manzanillo and
Costa Alegre offer luxury resorts, championship golf, miles of unspoiled tropical
beaches and such outstanding sport fishing that the region is often billed as
the "Sailfish Capital of the World."
