Review of travel to Jodphur India JODPHUR
Calling Code: +91

Jodhpur, second largest city in Rajasthan state, sits at the edge of the vast Thar Desert in northwestern India, not too far from the Pakistan border. Despite its desert context, the city itself is surprisingly green, with lots of trees and inviting public parks.

An 18th century wall, almost six miles long, surrounds parts of Jodhpur, and the impressive Mehrangarh Fort dominates the city from a rocky perch high above. With its own domestic airport and easily accessible by road and rail, Jodhpur is a bustling trade center and serves as administrative headquarters for its district.

Jodhpur is also famous for its handicrafts, which include carpets, lacquerwork, dyed cloth, cutlery and artifacts fashioned from ivory, stone, leather, felt and glass.
