What were the accommodations like?
Scoring this hotel was a major coup during our trip around Europe. We found a great deal on Hotels.com and stayed in a deluxe room for 69 per night!

The hotel is located in Mitte, directly in the historical centre of Berlin, adjacent to the famous Gendarmenmarkt with its two domes, the German and French Dome and the concert hall. The local bus picked up right down the street, linking us to the rest of the city. Our room was huge and the service was impeccable. I don't remember what went wrong but we had to complain about something. Within 30 minutes they had sent up a bottle of wine and a fruit and cheese tray. It was amazing!

Internet access was very expensive so I wouldn't recommend surfing the net there. There's a magnificent brunch every morning that costs 20 a head. It's definitely worth the splurge once. The cocktail lounge downstairs is great for a drink before you go out.

Remember, this is the Hilton hotel- you're not gonna wanna rock up with a backpack and holes in your clothes. Even though we got the room for cheap, staying here was a major splurge.
