What were the accommodations like?
When you first walk in you may think to yourself that the Old Firestation
is a bit run down, but it is totally well equipped for the modern backpacker.
With loads of free things to do and take advantage of, there is no reason not
to stay at the Old Firestation Backpackers.
There's lots of lounge spaces and plenty of room to party, something that OFS
is great for - if you're in the mood for a party, then this is the place to stay...
and may we suggest the Bat Cave - its its own dorm off the main hostel yet totally
in the mix and often the most requested dorm. If you're after a good nights sleep,
this is not the place to stay.
Not only is there a girls only dorm, but an entire section devoted to female travellers.
With separate entry codes and signs galore, it's obvious that men aren't welcome
in the female only section.
If a good curry is what your after, the hostel has a great deal with the Indian
restaurant below offering $3 backpacker meals as opposed to the $13 off the street
place.
All up if you're looking for a good time check out the well equipped, locally
centered Old Firestation Backpackers. The staff are pretty cool as well...
