There has been a bar on the corner of Monticello
and McKinney Avenue in some form or another since the 1970s. It
may be called the Corner Bar, but true Dallasites will always
remember it as Chelsea's Corner Street Pub - the name is held
for over 20 years.
The building is the exact same as it was then and thus provides a relaxed homey feeling - something that never changes so you can rely on it.
The beer is cold - usually - the food is good and the service is great.
Wednesday nights seem to be the biggest for the college kids as
the bar offers karaoke; it's also $2 drafts! Personally, the beginning
of the week is the best as that's when all the locals come out
and hang out.
There are probably 25 tvs all over the bar as well as 4 pool tables, Golden Tee, Silverstrike Bowling and more.
Corner Bar is fun and laid back - there are those who dress to be seen, so try to look nice in your flip flops.
