There is this incredible phenomenonal event that occurs in WA on Sunday afternoons... known
as a "Sunday Session" people sit around at the local pub and watch the sun set over the beautiful Indian
Ocean. You see, no where else in Australia do you see the sun set over the ocean... It's a beautiful thing
to see and and definite must do for anyone going...
The place to see and be seen during the Sunday Sess is at the Cottesloe Beach Hotel. Located, you guessed it,
right on the beach in Cottesloe, the bar gets packed so be sure to get their early. We visited
several times, as I said, it's the place to be! There are 3 different bars: Verandah Bar, Back Bar, and Garden
Bar. When the weather is nice, it's great to be out in the Garden Bar as it is a huge patio with tons of tables
and chairs.
The Verandah Bar is the place to watch the sunset over the Indian Ocean and get a view of Rottnest Island.
As we said, the place fills with locals and tourists alike, so if you wanna get a good spot, get there early - like
noon early - people don't joke around when it comes to a Sunday Session!
