What's it like?
This massive inland sea was formed when the Ord River was dammed in the late 1960's. It spread out
over an area of 1000sqkm and contains 12 times the volume of Sydney Harbour.
The lake has developed its own eco systems and native flora and fauna abound, both in the waters and on the many islands formed from
mountain peaks following unnundation.
Boat cruises on the lake are the best way to experience the magnificent scenery and wildlife of the area.
