What's it like?
It was a cold and rainy night in Auckland when we stumbled upon this great little place so needless to say it was dead. However, located right in the heart of the CBD, Umbria has a nice little patio and a well stocked wine bar.

We got a bottle of the Sky Valley Merlot and were impressed. By the time we got around to ordering food the kitchen had closed and thus we weren't able to taste the tempting pan fried bluenose with basil rocket and potato... hey, maybe next time. The rest of the menu looked promising, lots of pizza and antipasto... your typical Italian flare with a bit of a local twist. Definitely fluent in the fish department, but then again it seems as if all Auckland restaurants are.

The service was friendly but a bit slow... we attributed it to the weather and lack of patrons. Plus the waiter was kinda cute so it really didn't bother us too much! This place is definitely on the higher end of scale but it was worth it to sit outside and enjoy the cool breeze once the rain stopped.

We'll definitely have to come back here during the day to check out the local shops and hit the kitchen when they are open. All in all, for sure a great place to sit down and enjoy a glass of wine or two...

Umbria is located right in the CBD and is open
