Name: Stray Auckland City Orientation
City: Auckland New Zealand
Phone:
Price: free
What's it like?
A. They pick you up outside your hostel. B. They drive you all over town and provide you
with witty commentary. C. It's free. You really don't need any more reasons to jump on the Stray Auckland
City Orientation tour.
To be honest, we saw more on this tour than we had in 3 weeks of going it on our own. First you head across the
Auckland Harbour Bridge and learn all about the "Nippon Clip-ons" and about the city's different harbours. It's a quick trip
thru the North Shore and then it's back down to the Viaduct Harbour for a 15 minute break to explore. You then
head to Bastion Point and the Michael J. Savage Memorial Park which offers excellent picture taking opportunities. Next up
is Mt. Eden. Check out the crater of this dormant volcano but preserve the land and refrain from climbing down into it.
To wrap it all up you head to the pub, but not just any... The Cardrona Speights Ale House is a replica of the pub
in the South Island. Taste some of New Zealand's oldest and smallest brewery's fine ale. Grab a bite to eat and then
it's back on the bus and back to your hostel. Not a bad way to spend 4 hours. And it's free!
