What's it like?
The America's Cup is the world's oldest and most prestigious sporting trophy and ultimate yachting regatta. Usually the domain of billionaires and elite professional yachties, NZL40 and NZL41 offer the unique opportunity for everyone to participate on sailing these grand prix racing machines. Passengers become the crew and are encouraged to take the helm, exert energy on the grinders or simply sit back and enjoy the action as you sail down Auckland Harbour.

NZL40 was originally built by the Challenge of the Antibes Yacht Club for the 1995 America's Cup in San Diego and is the 40th America's Cup Class yacht. It wasn't finished in time so did not race, but was completed in 1998 and brought to New Zealand as a trial boat for the 2000 Cup in Auckland. The yacht has been changed as little as possible to give passengers an authentic experience and was the official America's Cup charter yacht for the America's Cup 2003. Still regularly raced, NZL40 took monohull line honours in the prestigious Coastal Classic 2001.

NZL41, also built for the 1995 Cup, was raced by the Japanese Nippon Challenge. Sailing in the Louis Vuitton semi-finals it competed against Team New Zealand, Tag Heuer and One Australia. Used by the British GBR Challenge as a training boat and raced in the America's Cup Jubilee 2001, NZL41 has now been put through stringent Maritime Safety regulations. NZL41 is also still regularly raced locally and won monohull line honors in the Coastal Classic 2002 and 2003.
