Review of Anaura Bay New Zealand ANAURA BAY
Calling Code: +64 6

One of the gems of the east coast, Anaura Bay (red cave) was one of the places English explore James Cook landed in 1769. Cook was well received by local Maori, and his crew were able to get fresh water from a local stream.

Today, Anaura Bay is known for its walking tracks and Scenic Reserve, which is notable for its puriri trees, which attract the large puriri moths.
