An excellent vantage point for a panoramic view along
Ninety Mile Beach. Kaitaia's golf course is next to the beach
and provides excellent all-weather playing.
Settlers made their living here digging kauri gum. Above Shipwreck
Bay you will see relics of the gum-digger days at the Ahipara
Gumfields Historic Reserve and the remnants of ancient kauri forests.
Ahipara is also well known for its year round surfing.
