Most countries will require that your passport be valid for at least six months after you
enter the country. In most cases you will not be issued a visa if your passport is set to
expire. Passport renewals are easy to take care of, so no worries...
You should however, allow plenty of time to apply for a new passport... although most passport services will rush your
application for an additional cost. You can apply for a passport at the local passport office in your native country. If you live abroad,
contact the nearest embassy or consulate.

Canada
To obtain a Canadian passport you will need: two current photos; proof of Canadian citizenship; any previous
Canadian passport, certificate of identity or refugee travel document issued to
you in the last five years; a completed application form and the application
fee. A Canadian passport costs CDN$85-90 and is usually issued within eight
working days.

Ireland
To obtain an Irish passport your will need two passport photos (which have been signed and certified) as well as
proof of citizenship and the application fee. Application forms are
available from all Garda stations and from Post Offices which provide the
Passport Express service.
If you live in the counties of Clare, Cork, Kerry,
Limerick, Tipperary or Waterford, you should mail your completed application to:

Passports should be issued within 10 working
days. An Irish passport is valid for 10
years and costs 57 for a 32-page passport and 60 for a 48-page passport.
New Zealand
You can download passport applications from the passport website or pick one up at most travel agencies.
You will need: proof of identity, proof of
citizenship, two passport photos and the NZ$80 application fee.
New Zealand passport application
forms can be downloaded from the passport office website and are also available
from most travel agencies. Applications are processed within ten working days. New Zealand passports are valid for 10 years.

South Africa
To obtain a South African passport you will need to apply well in advance as it can
take up to 6 months to process. Application forms are available at all Department of Home Affairs offices in South Africa and South
African consulates and embassies abroad. South African passports are valid for
10 years and cost around 80 rand.

United Kingdom
You can apply for a British passport online or at one of the UK Passport Agencies (website: www.ukps.gov.uk; tel:
0870 521 0410) in Belfast, Durham, Glasgow, Liverpool, London, Newport and
Peterborough.
If you need your passport faster, you can lodge your application in person
at a UK passport office and pay 30 for a one week service or 45 for same day service.
You can apply for a passport online at https://www.passport-application.gov.uk.
Online
applications are not recommended if you need your passport within
four weeks. Applications lodged at post offices and travel agents are normally issued in around three weeks, while
applications lodged at UK Passport Offices are processed in two weeks.
British passports cost 33 for a 32-page passport and 40 for a 48-page passport. British passports are valid for 10 years.
United States
US passport applications can be lodged at over 4500 places including many post offices. US passports
are valid for 10 years and cost US$55 plus a $30 filing fee. Applications are processed in around 6 weeks.
Passport Express provides an expedited service in 7 business days for $245 or 1-6 business days for $295.
