Adventure tours and things to do
You may have some preconceived notions when it comes to the New Zealand...it's everything you've imagined and more!

You could spend months in the country and not see and do everything that is offered so we've come up with some of the highlights. These are the things that you absolutely must try and do if you want to experience the real New Zealand region.

Sky Dive in Taupo
Jump out over New Zealand's largest lake.
Nevis Bungy Jump
Bungy is big in Zealand - it was created here. If you think you can hack it, try the highest and most daring jump in New Zealand at 134m
Surfing in Raglan
Check out our Surfing Resources and learn all about the waves in Raglan and elsewhere along the coasts.
Take in an All Blacks game
New Zealand's national rugby team is everywhere and several refer to it as their religion. Rugby is not merely a sport in NZ, its a love.
Hot Water Beach
Imagine a beach where you can take a shovel, dig a little hole, and watch the hot water fill in to create your own ocean-side thermal pool. Proving once again that Mother Nature can outdo the rest of us, the 30-50m golden crescent of steaming sands is a free spa, percolating with water at hot as 65°C.
Milford Sound
Abel Tasman National Park
Ninety Mile Beach
Visit the Waitomo Caves
The Waitomo region is riddled with explorable limestone caves full of stalactites, stalagmites and the radiant glowworms.
Trek thru the Tongariro Crossing
This outstanding volcanic landscape, centered on Mt Ruapehu, is a natural highlife of the North Island. AS well as fabulous walking, there's winter skiing and unbelievable scenery.
Explore the Franz Josef Glacier
Nowhere else do glaciers so close to the equator come this near to sea level and a hike on them is a must.
Enjoy a hangi
The best way to learn about Maori culture is through participation in a Maori hangi, or feast.
Kayak thru the Marlborough Sounds
Enjoy the geothermal activity in Rotorua
Rotorua is a centre of thermal activity - boiling mud pools, hissing geysers and eerie lunar landscapes - and abundant Maori culture such as concerts and hangi.
Have a cuppa in Wellington
Visit Cuba Street for the highest density of cafes in the Southern Hemisphere. Most cafes serve food and some are often open late and have liquor licenses.
Get lost in the Catlins
Often called "New Zealand's best kept secret", tramping is abundant here with an amazing array of fauna - albatross, fairy and yellow-eyed penguins, Hector's dolphins, seals and sea lions.
Visit the Christchurch Wizard in Cathedral Square
Fish 'n Chips on the Beach
The typical Kiwi Friday night activity.

If you're trying to figure out the best time of year to hit all these places, check out our When To Go Guide. We've also come up with a few Suggested Itineraries to help send you in the right direction.
