Travel trivia for Italy
   There's the people, there's the landscape, there's the local tricks to get to know when you travel. Then there's the silly inane facts that just make people chuckle or say oh...

Wanna sound like you're smarter than you are? Here's a couple fun did ya knows about Italy:
There is a street in Italy that is less than 1.5 feet wide.
Pisa, Italy is six miles from the coast of the Mediterranean now, but that sea rises and falls over the ages and Pisa was a port city in the 5th century B.C. A couple of years ago excavators found 15 ships with antique cargoes intact buried in the clay under Pisa where it was left by withdrawing waters.
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is 180 feet tall and now tipped over 16 feet to one side. Scientists estimate that it has approximately 100 years left before it collapses.
All gondolas must be black in Venice. Only government officials are allowed fancy colors.
The Vatican city, as well as being the smallest city in the world, is also one of the only countries within another country (it is inside Italy) The other is San Marino, also inside Italy.
