Grenada has reasonable international air links, both from Europe and from North America, arriving at Point Salines airport in the southwestern tip of the island. The airport has certainly opened the island up for visitors, whatever its military applications might have been - it was one of the stated reasons for the American invasion. If there is no direct flight it is nearly alwas possible to make a connection the same day via Barbados, Trinidad or St Lucia. Departure tax is EC$25 and a security charge of EC$10 are payable by all adults who stay more than 24 hours; children aged 5-11 years pay half; under 5s are exempt.
