Here's some travel advice to keep you informed and safe when it comes to travel to Fiji...

Local Conditions
Cyclone season is November to April and may result in flooding and landslides. Fiji is located in a seismic zone and is subject to earthquakes. In the event of a natural disaster, local authorities provide advice and instructions via radio and television bulletins. The Fiji Meteorological Service provides up to date information about the weather conditions in Fiji. Information can also be obtained from the Asia-Pacific Centre for Emergency and Disaster Information and the World Meteorological Organisation Severe Weather Information Centre.

Entry and Exit Requirements
Visa conditions are subject to change. For up-to-date visa information, travellers should contact the nearest Embassy or Consulate of Fiji, well in advance of travel.

Health Issues
There are two operational decompression chambers located in Suva, Fiji - one at Suva Private Hospital and the other at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital. Many of the popular dive sites are located away from Suva and divers needing emergency treatment are medically evacuated to the chambers. Rescue and emergency services are not as comprehensive as in Australia.

Outbreaks of the mosquito-borne illness dengue fever occur in the summer months (November to April).
