Here are some suggested itineraries for travel to Fiji:
Three Weeks
Sleep off the jet lag in Nadi, taking a day to unwind and explore the lush Garden
of the Sleeping Giant. Oil yourself up and grab your togs before catching the
next seaplane to the Yasawa Group. Revel in budget paradise as you island hop
from beach to beach. Be sure to hit the Blue Lagoon before heading back to Nadi.
After a quick walk through the city's bustling streets, its up up and away to
the remote isles of Kadavu to when your scuba appetite on the world-renowned Astrolabe
Reef. Fly back to Nadi, then head east along the Kings Road for a rough taste
of rural Fiji or venture south along the Queens Road and the Coral Coast, If surfing
and resort glitz are up your alley.
From both roads, treks to the Interior Highlands are a definite must to meet,
greet, and eat the Fijian way. Take a day to hike over Mt. Batilamu, the highest
peak in Fiji. Regardless of your path, soak up some city sights in Suva, Fiji's
capital.
Board a boat and go back in time to Levuka, Fiji's first capital set on the island
of Ovalau. Stop by Lovoni Village before cruising back to Suva to catch a ride
to Savusavu on Vanua Levu. Enjoy the remote waters of this under-touristed island
by kayak and catch a ferry to nearby Taveuni, the "Garden Island", where you'll
find some of Fiji's best accommodation. DIve the scuba-friendly waters of Rainbow
Reef before returning to Nadi's international airport.
These are just suggested itineraries... feel free to make your own and get off the beaten path!
