   You don't need to spend all your money sightseeing... Here's a list of free things to do in Brisbane:

Improve your flexibility, circulation and immunity in the free Chi-Gung classes at Mount Coot-tha Botanic Gardens each Thursday and Sunday at 9:15am. Bookings are essential. Tel +61 7 3878 5854.
Take one of the best urban walks in Australia along the Energex Brisbane Arbour, a 1km path that winds its way through South Bank Parklands. The Energex Brisbane Arbour was awarded the national Urban Design Award 2000.
Stop and smell the roses in the largest rose garden in the southern hemisphere as you wander through stunning New Farm Park or play hide and seek among the giant fig trees there.
Experience the theatrics of the Queensland State Parliament from the comfort of the visitors' gallery or take a half-hour tour of the old Parliament House and its treasure trove of antiques for free. Tours are run throughout the year except public holidays. On sitting days tours only run at 10:30 am and 2:30pm. For Parliament sitting times Tel +61 7 3406 7111.
Take a plunge in the giant lagoon at Redcliffe's new Settlement Cove, which features a kid's park and play area right next door.
Discover fascinating stories of catastrophic floods, threats of invasion and 19th Century torpedo boats at the Naval Stores, Kangaroo Point. Open 10am to 4pm Saturday to Monday. Group bookings of 10 or more can be made outside these hours. Entry is free.
Walk among the dinosaurs at the Queensland Museum which has free entry. Tel +61 7 3840 7555.
Appreciate one of the world's largest collections of Asian and Aboriginal art at the Queensland Art Gallery with free entry. Tel +61 7 3840 7333.
Learn how the police solve crimes at the Queensland Police Museum, located at police headquarters in Roma Street, Brisbane. The museum is open from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday and entry is free. Tel +61 7 3364 6432.
Sip champagne at sunset on the 'rooftop of Brisbane', Mount Coot-tha Lookout or grab a blanket and take in the spectacular city skyline from Captain Burke Park below the Story Bridge at Kangaroo Point.
Kick off your shoes and feed the pigeons on the grass in King George Square or spare a thought for our war heroes at the eternal flame and war memorial in Anzac Square.
Take a walk through Roma Street Parklands, the largest, subtropical city garden in the world which features 16 acres of spectacular horticultural displays, distinctive architecture, sweeping vistas and unique artwork.
Get fresh at the Farmers Markets, on the second Saturday of every month at the Powerhouse Centre for Live Arts, New Farm. Entry is free.
Visit the only Gothic cathedral in the world still under construction; St John's Cathedral in the City. Open 9:30am - 4:30pm. Free tours Monday-Saturday at 10am and 2pm, and most Sundays at 2pm. Tel +61 7 3835 2248.
