Australian Alps Walking Track
A 655km track that follows the ridges and plains up to Mount Kosciuszko at 2228m. It intersects popular walking tracks in the Baw Baw, Alpine, Kosciuszko and Namadgi National Parks. The whole track takes 10 weeks and is widely regarded as the toughest long-distance track in Australia.
Heysen Trail
This 1144km trail runs from the southern coast of SA, north past Adelaide and into the Flinders Ranges. The entire track takes around 55-70 days to walk, but can accommodate much shorter treks.
