Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp
More than 200,000 people were imprisoned here by the Nazis between 1936 and 1945; over 30,000 died from starvation, disease, forced labor and maltreatment, or were systematically exterminated by the SS. Thousands more died during the death march when the camp was evacuated in April 1945.
