Nassau, Cable Beach and Paradise Island are the principal tourist
resorts and cruise ship terminals. They are crowded and hardly relaxed unless
you are in one of the expensive private enclaves such as Lyford Cay. They have
lively bars and good restaurants and everything you might want in the way of water
sports. Most package holidays end up here.
Freeport/Lucaya is a purpose-built resort area with big hotels and some good beaches.
The Family Islands consist of hundreds of cays and sandbars. They are some of
the least explored islands in the whole area - scattered with occasional hotels
each isolated on its own magnificent strop of sand. They have superb sailing,
deep-sea fishing, bonefishing and scuba diving.
